A Professional Writing Workshop for College Musicians

This workshop series by musicologists/arts educators Jennifer Chu and Lucie Vágnerová will teach you the real-world skills to succeed as a working composer and performing musician.
Audience creation and community engagement are ever important for professional musicians. Good writing and communication skills will make you stand out. Music professionals are routinely called upon to give pre-concert talks and interviews, as well as to write grant applications, press releases, and program notes. In this workshop series, you will learn to:
Communicate about your work as an artist to the general public
Amplify your reach with diverse audiences
Engage critically with your practice as a professional musician
Advocate and seek funding for the arts
Each student will design and develop a project towards their academic, musical, and professional careers.
